HR administrator job summary
Aquila, The Diocese of Canterbury Academies Trust are seeking an organised and proactive HR Administration Assistant to join our growing Multi Academy Trust, supporting 17 schools across our trust. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with HR administration experience, preferably in the education sector, who is passionate about delivering a high-quality people service.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR data.
- Provide administrative support across the full employee lifecycle, including:
- Recruitment and selection processes
- Onboarding and induction
- Contractual changes
- Leavers and terminations
- Liaise closely with Finance and Payroll colleagues to ensure staffing budgets, payroll records, and personnel changes are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Support the delivery of staff training and development activities.
- Assist with HR projects and initiatives aimed at continuously improving the HR service across the Trust.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, safeguarding requirements, and Trust policies.
Maintain and regularly update the Trust’s Single Central Record (SCR), ensuring all safeguarding, vetting and pre-employment checks are accurately recorded and comply with statutory requirements
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous HR administration experience.
- Possess excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Be confident managing sensitive and confidential information.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to prioritise workloads and work effectively in a busy environment.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and HR systems.
- Have a proactive approach and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Desirable
- Experience working within the education sector.
- Knowledge of HR processes within schools or Multi Academy Trusts.
- Experience of maintaining a Single Central Record (SCR) and knowledge of safer recruitment and safeguarding compliance requirements.
