HR Officer
Arrangements: Monday to Friday, Full time, 37 hours per week, Term Time Only + 2-3 weeks. We are happy to discuss alternative working hours and term-time-only arrangements to support flexible working.
Location: Etone College, Leicester Road, Nuneaton, CV11 6AA (2-3 days per week), with the remaining time based at Head Office in Walsall. The role will also require travel across our schools, with reasonable travel expenses reimbursed in line with the organisation’s policy.
About the Role
At Matrix Academy Trust we are centralising our HR function across all schools, therefore we are seeking to appoint a dedicated HR Officer to provide professional HR advice and support under the guidance of the HR Manager and HR Director.
Providing expert support to Etone College as your main school, you will also be required to work supporting Head Office and casework across other Trust schools.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional who is proactive, highly organised, and committed to delivering an excellent HR service. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting staff, ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures, and upholding our commitment to safeguarding and employee wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Oversee recruitment processes, including employment checks (references, DBS, right-to-work) and new starter documentation.
- Ensure appropriate reasonable adjustment records and risk assessments are in place for staff with disabilities or medical conditions.
- Maintain HR records and systems, including SIMS, payroll uploads, and employee filing systems.
- Work across multiple sites to provide support and capacity as required.
- Deliver accurate, timely, and confidential HR administration to a high professional standard.
What We’re Looking For
- Having a minimum qualification of CIPD Level 3 (Level 5 desirable).
- Previous experience in a HR role, within a school or educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of HR processes, employment law, and safer recruitment practices.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to provide effective support to our staff.
- Ability to work flexibly across multiple sites, with access to a vehicle and a full driving licence.
