Our vision and values - Our Vision & Values - Great Heights Academy Trust

Great Heights is entering an exciting new phase of growth and development. Currently, we have nine schools and a diverse portfolio including a nationally recognised English Hub, Research School, SCITT and Medical Needs provision. Alongside a strong footprint across regional and national school improvement, we are a Trust that is both established, evolving and preparing for our next phase of growth. We have built a secure and sustainable foundation and are now focused on scaling our impact, strengthening our infrastructure and delivering even greater outcomes for the communities we serve.

About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic ICT Engineer to join our Trust IT Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in supporting the delivery of reliable, effective and responsive IT services across our academies.

The postholder will provide day-to-day technical support to staff and students across the Trust, helping to maintain and develop our IT systems, infrastructure and equipment. Responsibilities will include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing and maintaining computers and associated equipment, supporting network and server systems, managing user accounts and assisting with the effective operation of our IT helpdesk.

Working closely with colleagues within the IT team, you will help ensure that our academies have access to the technology and support they need to deliver high-quality education. You will also contribute to maintaining secure IT systems, identifying potential issues and ensuring that technical problems are appropriately resolved or escalated.

This role offers excellent variety and would suit an individual who enjoys problem-solving, working with technology, supporting others and developing their technical skills within a busy and varied environment. You will have opportunities to work across different academies and gain experience of a broad range of IT systems and technologies.

We are interested to hear from candidates with two or more years relevant experience, whose values align with the culture of our Trust and can demonstrate most of the following:

  • Experience of providing IT support and resolving hardware, software and technical issues.

  • Experience of installing, configuring and maintaining computers, laptops, printers and other IT equipment.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, applications and associated technologies.

  • An understanding of computer networks, wireless connectivity and IT infrastructure.

  • Experience of supporting users, responding to technical enquiries and providing a professional and helpful service.

  • The ability to diagnose problems, take a practical approach to finding solutions and know when to escalate more complex issues.

  • Good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records.

  • An understanding of the importance of cyber security, data protection and maintaining secure IT systems.

Previous experience within an education, academy trust or public sector setting would be advantageous but is not essential. Relevant IT qualifications or a willingness to develop technical knowledge through further training would also be welcomed.

Most importantly, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who enjoys working as part of a team, takes pride in delivering a good service and is committed to contributing to the continued success of Great Heights Academy Trust.

In return, we offer the opportunity to be part of a supportive and ambitious Trust central team, where your skills and expertise will have a direct and meaningful impact on the education of children and young people.

As standard, we offer Continuous Professional Devlopment, preparing you for the next phase of your career - which we hope is with us! We are confident that new colleagues joining our Trust will feel welcomed from the moment they start their journey with us.

If you wish to apply for the position, please go to our Trust site vacancy page at https://ghat.org.uk/join-our-trust/vacancies/ and click on the Apply Now option on the advert.
