Job Advert Summary – Inclusion Support Assistant (SEND)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Inclusion Support Assistant to provide tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role involves working across a specific area of need such as SEMH and sensory, communication and interaction, or cognition and learning, ensuring that every pupil is supported to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
Working closely with the SENDCo, wider inclusion team, families, and external professionals, the successful candidate will deliver targeted interventions and small-group support, as well as assist within the classroom to promote inclusive learning. You will play a key role in adapting resources, supporting personalised learning plans, and helping to remove barriers to learning while fostering students’ confidence, independence, and wellbeing.
The role also includes monitoring and recording student progress, supporting the delivery of specialist interventions, and contributing to the development of inclusive practice across the school. A strong emphasis is placed on building positive relationships, promoting effective behaviour strategies, and ensuring students feel supported and engaged in all aspects of school life.
This is a collaborative and varied role requiring excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, and a commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusion. The postholder will also take part in training and professional development, contribute to wider school activities, and support the overall ethos and values of the school.
