With our new school underway in Deighton we are recruiting ready for our growth.

As a School Inclusion Support Worker ISW at our school in Huddersfield, you will offer more than classroom support. You will make connections, develop relationships and help our pupils navigate the path to a better future. This includes:

  • Getting the classroom ready for lessons
  • Supporting the pupils in and out of class
  • Helping those who need extra support
  • Completing pupils records
  • Taking the lead on specific activities and sessions
  • Providing learning routines at school, in the community and in the family home
  • Implement strategies/ use interventions to help students manage challenging behaviour

THE CANDIDATE

  • Experience in a school or similar setting
  • IDEALLY experience working with children/ young people with SEN / SEMH needs
  • Educated with GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
  • Car driver with access to own vehicle OR willingness to learn (salary will be reflective)

SALARY/ HOURS
Starting salary for a ISW Inclusion Support Worker (Grade 5) is £21,903.70 actual annual salary working 32.5 hours per week Mon-Fri term time only + 5 inset days + amazing benefits working for our Wellspring trust which can be found on the trust website

Joseph Norton Academy in Huddersfield is a special academy educating children and young people with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties across Kirklees.
Exciting time to be joining us with our new school underway in Deighton.

Joseph Norton Academy is the same as any other school in that we have high expectations of our pupils; build a secure and happy atmosphere in which pupils can learn effectively; offer a broad range of subjects and qualifications, including GCSEs. However, we are different to other schools in that we organise our pupils into nurture groups; structure our day and our curriculum to support pupils with SEMH difficulties and employ specialist staff to support the special educational needs of our pupils.
