Income Accountant job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an Income Accountant to work as part of the central Finance Team based at the Trust hub in Flixton, with the opportunity for hybrid working, reporting to the Senior Primary Business Partner. We are looking for someone who is proactive and self-sufficient with a relevant financial qualification who will ensure the accurate recording of all sales ledger income across the Trust and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

About the role

We are looking for a proactive and self-sufficient sufficient part qualified through considerable relevant experience or finalist Accountant (ACCA or CIMA) who will ensure the accurate recording of all sales ledger income across the Trust and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders

The role will be responsible for the accurate recording of all sales ledger across the Trust and the role will:

  • effectively line manage staff within the sales ledger team
  • be responsible for income recognition
  • provide professional and timely advice for all activities through Sales Ledger and Credit Control to assist in the efficient and prudent management of school and Trust finances
  • ensure good internal control in the Sales Ledger Function following the Trust's financial procedures
  • assist in the Trust maximising income opportunities through research into grant funding opportunities advising and assisting in preparation of grant funding
  • keep abreast and provide advice and guidance to the Chief Finance Officer on the impact of government schools funding policy changes
  • support the Financial Controller and Trust central finance team, all schools in the Trust and the Professional Development Institute

The postholder will have successful experience of:

  • operating sales ledge systems in similar organisations
  • using reports within an integrated accounting systems to produce management accounts
  • using financial analysis to enhance reporting and drive performance improvements

With excellent communication skills the postholder will have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders in order to obtain and present information, provide advice and carry out duties in relation to all schools finance matters.
