The School:
Beechfield is a ‘good’ school based in north Watford one mile from the town centre and half a mile from Watford Junction. The M1 and M25 are also nearby.
We are very proud of our multi-cultural and inclusive school. 53% of our pupils have English as an additional language and 25% are in receipt of Pupil premium. 47 languages are spoken across the school. We have a diverse staff who are representative of our school community.
Every day, every one of our staff strive to make a positive difference to the children and families in our school community. They do this through high expectations and a passion to make a difference.
A nurturing ethos runs throughout our school curriculum and teachers work hard to ensure children are given holistic support to thrive and develop academically as well as socially. We teach our children to be responsible, resilient, tolerant and compassionate as well as focusing on the basics, because if children can read, write, communicate and calculate, their choices are opened up.
Ofsted Report May 2022 : ‘Feedback from parents is overwhelmingly positive. Parents appreciate the caring ethos and adults’ support of their children’s social and emotional development, and their academic achievement.’
Beechfield is part of the Inclusive Multi Academy Trust along with Cherry Tree and Laurance Haines School. The vision of the Trust is to ‘inspire and nurture our children and their community to be the very best they can be.’ The schools keep their own identities but there are many opportunities for collaboration and support between the staff in the three schools.
