Start Date: February 2026

Thetford Academy is recruiting for reliable and hardworking people to join our exam invigilation team. We are looking for people who can be available on a casual and flexible basis to invigilate external and internal examinations. The role also involves providing assistance as scribes or readers to students who need extra support in exams. Previous experience would be helpful although not essential as full training will be provided.

The main examination period is May and June but there are other times throughout the year when invigilators are required. We do require a commitment that you will be available for mock exams, November and February/March, in addition to May and June which is our peak period for examinations.

The main responsibility of the role will be:

  • to ensure exams are carried out fairly and in accordance with the rules set out by the examination board.
  • to supervise students and ensure exam conditions are maintained throughout the duration of each exam.
  • to assist with the implementation of agreed exam access arrangements to meet the needs of students.

The ideal candidate will:

  • have excellent communication skills
  • have a flexible approach to work
  • have the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • be computer literate as you will be required to work with a computer on occasion.

Thetford Academy is a remarkable place to work and sits at the academic and cultural heart of its community. Our pupils follow a curriculum designed to prepare them for future challenges while fostering a deep appreciation and understanding of the world.
