Are you ready for an exciting role in a supportive and forward-thinking school community? We are looking for a Janitor to join St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Hednesford, part of St Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Multi-Academy Trust, starting November 2025. Located in the welcoming and historic village of Hednesford, on the edge of Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, our school is part of a close-knit community that offers both beautiful surroundings and easy access to nearby towns and cities. About the Role:
As our Janitor, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. You will help ensure the smooth daily running of the school and contribute to the warm, caring atmosphere that makes our community special. This is a full-year position, working 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility in working hours required.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out daily cleaning duties in classrooms, corridors, toilets, offices, and communal areas
  • Performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks as required
  • Ensuring the school is clean, safe, and secure at all times
  • Opening and locking up the school premises
  • Monitoring stock levels of cleaning materials and reporting when supplies are low
  • Reporting any health and safety issues, hazards, or necessary repairs
  • Assisting with setting up for school events, furniture moves, or deliveries
