Junior Sports Coach job summary
Job Title: Junior Sports Coach
Keen to challenge young people with opportunities they may not even know exists yet? We aim to raise pupils’ aspirations so they begin to believe in themselves and understand that there is no thing holding them back, including where they happen to live or their family’s experience in education.
We need to appoint a Junior Sports Coach at St Ursula's E-ACT Academy, commencing employment as soon as possible once onboarding processes are complete. You will play a key role in the delivery of PE lessons and assist in covering PPA, and you will provide support to the Sports Coach and Regional PE Coordinator.
You will need to hold a full and relevant qualification in Sports Education or have completed a recent Apprenticeship in a Sports background. The contract on offer is full time (37 hours per week, Monday to Friday) and permanent, and you will work all year round (52.143 weeks per year). Key responsibilities:
- To deliver good PE lessons which are safe, engaging and fun for pupils of the Academy, whilst developing the ability of all pupils and improving their performance.
- To offer support in the development of Physical Education as a subject within the Academy.
- To be in charge of running and organising at least one extra-curricular club per week and also supporting the lead Sports Coach in other school clubs
- To ensure inclusivity in the sports provision within the Academy, identifying individual needs so that participation is meaningful for all pupils
Pay range:
NJC Scale Point 2-3 (£22,366 - £22,737 per annum)
