What skills and experience we're looking for
Qualified teacher status
Degree
Successful primary teaching experience or successful teaching placements.
Teaching experience in Key Stage 1 either as a current classteacher or on placement.
Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 Curriculum
Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies
A good understanding of how children learn
Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils’ needs
Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils
Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children
Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies
Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning
Desirable:
Experience leading a curriculum area as a subject leader.
Expertise in either the Arts or Humanities.
Read, Write Inc trained and familiar with the Read, Write Inc programme of study.
Experience of instructional coaching being a valuable model of professional development.
Experience of using Continuous Provision in Key Stage 1

The Governing Body at Pennycross Primary School is looking to appoint 2 Key Stage 1 class teachers to work as part of the teaching team and to take on full class responsibility for either a Year 1 or Year 2 class. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is currently in the role of class teacher or is seeking their first teaching role as an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and candidates are kindly requested to contact the school office to arrange an appointment with either the Headteacher or Deputy headteacher to view the school.
