An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Key Stage 2 Teacher to join The Heights Academy.

The Heights Academy opened in September 2023 in a brand-new build, and this is a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of the next stage of the journey of growth and development. Initially we are open to pupils in Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3, but over time, will grow to cater for 116 pupils across Key Stage 2, 3 and 4. All of our pupils have an EHCP with a diagnosis of Autism.

The Class Teacher will support school activities where required, including attending educational trips, extra-curricular activities and parents’ evenings, which may require some out-of-hours availability.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be passionate about developing children as independent learners and thinkers.

  • Be eager to develop excellent teaching practice and create a learning environment where all pupils can achieve their best.

  • Be committed to making learning experiences memorable and fun. 

  • Be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and can work effectively as part of a team. 

  • Be organised, professional and proficient, with excellent IT skills.

  • Work with the SENCO to ensure pupils with SEND are appropriately supported. 

    Use a range of inclusive teaching strategies, visual supports and positive behaviour approaches

  • Work with the DSL and their deputies to ensure safeguarding is promoted.
