Kitchen Assistant - Level 2 job summary

The St Bart's Multi Academy Trust, in partnership with Governors, staff and children of Stoke Minster CofE Primary Academy are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our hard working and committed team.

The successful candidate will be working alongside a team of caring, enthusiastic, dedicated staff, who are well-supported by their Senior Leadership Team.

Job Purpose

To undertake the preparation, cooking and service of food and beverages plus other related catering duties,as directed by the cook / chef.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook and serve food and beverages, as directed
  • Operate kitchen equipment, following training
  • Follow food hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen in accordance with health and safety, foodhygiene and COSHH regulations at all times
  • Prepare and clear kitchen and dining areas
  • Undertake cleaning and washing up as directed in the kitchen and dining areas
  • Check delivery of food and other catering consumables from designated suppliers and beresponsible for refilling and replacing sauces, condiments and other consumables
  • Allocate tasks and oversee work of kitchen assistants
  • Assist in moving and setting up dining furniture
  • Assist with delivering catering for functions
  • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within theacademy, raising any concerns following academy protocol/procedures

    The candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
