KITCHEN CATERING ASSISTANT
Grade 2: SCP 2 – 4 £23,656 - £24,404 F.T.E/pro rata
Term time only plus ONE week: start 2nd June 2025
We have an exciting opportunity to work in our school kitchen as a catering assistant, working alongside our Kitchen Manager. The catering assistant will have the day-to-day responsibility of preparing, cooking and serving, with the rest of the team between 250 - 400+ meals a day and will on occasion deputise for the Kitchen Manager in their absence.
We are seeking an energetic and experienced individual with the creativity and stamina to deliver excellent meals in our school kitchen following prescribed menus and recipes. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with both adults and children and will be able to adapt to changing priorities in a calm, efficient manner. They will have a high level of experience in hot and cold food preparation, use of kitchen machinery, whilst understanding and following current legislation relating to food safety, food hygiene, health & safety and the use of chemicals, is essential. The post holder will need to hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene in Catering certificate.
The position is full days, 30 hours per week Monday to Friday (timings to be agreed).
