£11,383.00 - £11,746.00 Monthly This post is attached to the pupil which means if the pupil leaves, there will no longer be a position. There might be additional hours offered which would be claimed as overtime.

KS1 1:1 support for a pupil with an EHCP job summary

Provide one-to-one support and assistance to the pupil in various early learning and social activities

Support the pupil in developing self-regulation strategies to manage emotions and behaviour effectively

Create a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages the pupil’s social interaction and engagement with peers

Implement sensory activities and techniques to support the pupil’s sensory processing needs

Know the targets that the pupil is working towards and understand how best to work towards achieving these

Deliver specific targeted intervention programmes to meet the needs of the individual pupil

Support the teacher in adapting resources to make them accessible

Support other pupils in accordance with EHCP targets for the 1:1 pupil

Feedback to the parent on a daily basis in clear, concise and professional manner

Record all significant events using the school’s systems, policies and procedures

Support class teachers in photocopying and other tasks to support teaching

Prepare and maintain visual timetables and Now and Next boards for the individual pupil

Comply with the policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, child protection, health, safety and security, SEND/inclusion and data protection, reporting all concerns to the designated safeguarding lead

Contribute to the overall ethos, values and aims of the school

Build positive relationships with all stakeholders and uphold the culture of the school

Be punctual and have good attendance to ensure the pupil receives consistent support

Contribute to annual reviews for the pupil’s EHCP as necessary and help monitor their progress

Work collaboratively with other professionals, such as educational psychologists, Advisory Teaching Service and other Teaching Assistants as part of a professional team

Accompany teaching staff and pupils on visits and out of school activities as required within contracted hours and to take responsibility for pupils under the supervision of the teacher

Assist with carrying out risk assessments for activities undertaken by the individual pupil; ensuring their safety and wellbeing
