KS2 Class Teacher & SENDCo job summary

We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and values-driven teacher to join our rural village primary school as a KS2 Class Teacher and SENDCo.

This is a key role within our school community and would suit a skilled practitioner who believes that strong relationships, high expectations and kindness are the foundations of learning.

We pride ourselves on nurturing every child as an individual and ensuring that all pupils feel safe, valued and able to thrive. The successful candidate will play a vital role in both leading SEND provision across the school and delivering high-quality teaching for our Key Stage 2 pupils.

We are part of the Symphony Learning Trust, a partnership of schools working collaboratively to provide excellent opportunities for children, staff and communities.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

• Is an experienced and highly effective classroom teacher with strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum

• Has the Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO or NPQ-SENCO) or is willing to undertake it

• Is passionate about inclusive education and securing the best outcomes for pupils with additional needs

• Builds positive, trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues

• Leads with strong values, compassion and integrity

• Is resilient, organised and able to balance classroom teaching with SEND leadership responsibilities

• Has high expectations for learning, behaviour and personal development

• Works collaboratively with staff, external agencies and families to support pupils effectively


Key Responsibilities

As a KS2 Class Teacher:

• Deliver high-quality teaching that inspires and challenges all learners

• Create a positive, inclusive and well-structured classroom environment

• Monitor and support the progress and wellbeing of all pupils


As SENDCo:

• Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school

• Support staff to deliver effective inclusive practice

• Work closely with families, external professionals and the senior leadership team

• Monitor provision and outcomes for pupils with SEND

• Ensure statutory responsibilities are met
