Thorpe is a vibrant, multicultural school where children feel safe, valued and inspired to achieve their very best. Our school is built upon expert teaching, a broad and ambitious curriculum, and a strong commitment to pastoral care. We are fortunate to have a dedicated staff team that includes a full-time SENDCo, Family Engagement Lead, Sports Coach and a highly supportive Senior Leadership Team who place staff wellbeing and professional development at the heart of our work.

Following the promotion of one of our Year 6 teachers, we are seeking a talented and committed Key Stage 2 teacher to join our experienced Year 6 team.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher who is passionate about helping pupils achieve success in their final year of primary education. You will work alongside skilled colleagues who share resources, expertise and a collective commitment to securing excellent outcomes for children. With class sizes of no more than 25 pupils, our Year 6 cohort benefits from a learning environment that enables staff to truly know every child and maximise their progress. You will be supported by experienced Teaching Assistants who play an integral role in promoting children's learning, wellbeing and independence, allowing teachers to focus on high-quality teaching and learning.

We are proud to be an inclusive school where every child is known and valued. Our specialist High Needs classroom, led by an experienced SEND teacher, together with our fully equipped sensory room, enables us to provide exceptional support for pupils with additional needs. Diversity is celebrated, ambition is encouraged and curiosity is nurtured. As a result, our children leave Thorpe as confident, caring and resilient young people who are well prepared for the next stage of their education.

As part of Keys Academies Trust, we benefit from strong collaboration across our family of schools, providing opportunities to share best practice, access wider professional development and enrich the educational experiences we offer our pupils.

We are flexible in our approach and can offer either a permanent position or a two-term contract, depending on the experience, circumstances and preferences of the successful candidate. Our priority is finding the right person to join our team.

If you would like to experience the warmth, ambition and community spirit that make Thorpe such a special place, we would be delighted to welcome you for a tour of the school. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet our staff and pupils and learn more about the role. Please contact the school office on 01733 264340 to arrange a visit ahead of the closing date on Monday 19th October.

Thorpe Primary School is a wonderful, multi-cultural school where children feel safe, happy and secure, and leave well-prepared for the next phase of their education. An engaging and innovative curriculum inspires children and equips them with skills, experience and confidence to achieve their best. We strive for children to develop into successful learners and well-rounded individuals through high quality teaching and pastoral care across the school.

Our dedicated staff work incredibly hard to secure good outcomes for children. They work together to ensure the curriculum we offer is purposeful and memorable for all children as well as offering a wide range of extra-curricular activities and opportunities.

Our provision is enhanced by our good relationships with parents, Academy Committee and the wider community, all of whom we work in partnership with.

We are located within the bustling city of Peterborough and enjoy direct rail links with London. Peterborough is known for its diverse and inclusive culture which is something we celebrate throughout our school; with 28% of our pupils having English as an additional language. We are proud to serve the families of Netherton and western Peterborough.

We have high expectations for all our pupils and staff, and consider our families to be partners, recognising the vital role that they play. We want to work together as a team, to fully realise the potential of all of our children.

We benefit from an on-site internal Nursery, which is the main feeder Nursery into our school. We have recently benefited from various site work to refresh our Nursery provision, including internal and outdoor spaces.

We work closely with our four Trust schools (Jack Hunt, Longthorpe Primary, Nova Primary and Ravensthorpe Primary), as all schools are within a maximum 15-minute walking distance from each other, which allows us to work collaboratively with our peers across both primary and secondary settings. We are all proud members of Keys Academies Trust.

We benefit from wide outdoor spaces, including a luxurious school field and dedicated play areas and outdoor learning environments, including a recently refurbished outdoor EYFS and Nursery space.

We welcome new colleagues to join our dedicated team, who will bring energy, optimism and a drive to build dreams for our pupils.
