Lansdowne Primary Academy is part of the Gateway Learning Community [GLC] which is a partnership of one secondary academy and four primary academies located within Tilbury and Chadwell St Mary in the borough of Thurrock, to the east of London. We are a vibrant, innovative and highly successful organisation: the place of choice to work and learn. Across the 5 academies of the GLC, we celebrate differences and pledge that everyone enjoys an equality of opportunity and is not discriminated against in any way.
The Role
We are seeking a highly passionate, committed, and innovative SEND Specialist Teacher with a strong working knowledge of SEND to join our inclusion team.
This is a unique and highly rewarding role split across the school day to maximise your impact on our students:
- Mornings: You will take the lead in teaching a bespoke provision specifically tailored for pupils with cognition and learning needs.
- Afternoons: You will work collaboratively alongside our SENCo to support the planning, development, and implementation of other bespoke provisions across the academy, with a particular focus on supporting pupils with an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) profile.
The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of inclusive pedagogy, or be an enthusiastic early career teacher with a deep passion for SEND. You will need to evidence a committed approach to ensuring that all pupils under your care, regardless of ability or barrier to learning, have the opportunity to make excellent progress.
Career Development: We are highly committed to staff development. If you are interested in advancing your career in SEND leadership, we would be open to having a conversation during the recruitment process about potentially supporting you in working towards the SENCo qualification (though please note this is for discussion and not guaranteed).
