Are you organised, detail-oriented and passionate about supporting excellence in education? This is an exciting opportunity to join our excellent Multi-Academy Trust of nine schools, which was formed in September 2021. We are seeking an organised and highly motivated individual to join our Trust Central Team as the Lead Governance Professional. The successful candidate will work closely with the Trust Executive to provide governance support and advice on good governance practice to colleagues across the Trust, and drive the continuous improvement in governance, processes and structures.
The successful applicant should have excellent organisational and time-management skills and the ability to prioritise their workload to ensure that deadlines are met, as well as to work autonomously and take initiative. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential requirements. You will have the ability to cope with conflicting demands and deadlines. You must be able to work independently on your own initiative to meet strict deadlines whilst at the same time forming effective relationships with Directors, Headteachers and the wider staff.
The postholder will manage all meetings at Board level within the Trust. This will include the collation of agendas, circulation of documents, taking of accurate minutes and generally ensuring that every meeting runs smoothly and efficiently. They will also administrate the Trust website so that all statutory documents and other information is up-to-date and easily accessible.
The majority of the role will be carried out during the school day, although there will be some evening meetings you will be required to attend (presently there are 14 meetings across 12 months, though some or even all of these may move to the working day in future). Whilst the role is based at the Trust Central Office at St Mary’s catholic School, Bishop’s Stortford, the successful candidate will need to be willing to travel to Trust schools (all of whom are within half an hour of Bishop’s Stortford).
