We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Playworker to support our after-school wrap-around care provision. This role will be key in ensuring a safe, stimulating, and enjoyable environment for children aged 3 - 11 during the after-school hours. Hours of work, Monday to Friday 3pm to 5.15pm in the first instance, (please note this post may be reviewed if there is a need to extend the provision to 5.45pm).

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and supervise the daily running of the after-school club: 

This includes planning and delivering engaging activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children, and maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

  • Plan and prepare healthy and nutritious snacks for the children. 

This will involve writing grocery lists and basic food preparation.

  • Maintain accurate records: 

This includes attendance registers, incident reports, and communication logs.

  • Liaise with parents/carers: 

This includes communicating effectively about club activities, addressing any concerns, and building positive relationships.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant childcare legislation and safeguarding policies.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the after-school club. This may include identifying areas for improvement, developing new activities, and sourcing new resources. 

Essential qualifications:

  • Level 3 NVQ or equivalent
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Food Hygiene

Desired qualifications:

  • DSL or to be trained as a designated safeguarding lead

You will be asked to make a criminal conviction declaration if you are shortlisted for the post.
