What skills and experience we're looking for
The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Lead Science Technician to join our supportive and dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in inspiring the next generation of scientists by leading the provision of technical support across the Science Department and ensuring our laboratories are well-prepared, safe and fully equipped for engaging practical lessons.
Working closely with teaching staff, you will provide technical oversight and leadership for practical activities, while managing resources, procurement and technical systems that support outstanding teaching and learning. You will help create an exceptional learning environment where pupils can explore, discover and thrive.
About You
- English and Maths qualifications to Level 2 (GCSE A-C), or equivalent.
- NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification in relevant scientific or technical discipline.
- Significant experience of working as a Science Technician.
- Experience supervising, coordinating or leading the work of others.
- Sound knowledge of Health and Safety and laboratory management including the safe handling of chemicals and biological materials.
- CLEAPSS accredited training and/or IOSH qualification are desirable.
- A commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of pupils.
