This role is primarily to develop and lead in the subject of PE.

A particular focus on developing and promoting girls' sport would be welcomed.

Our PE department consists of 10 subject specialists (6 male and 4 female).

All students in KS3 have two hours of PE per week following a concept driven curriculum focusing on individual student development.

At KS4, all students have three hours of Wellbeing lessons per week; themed lessons in Leadership, Excellence in Performance and Character Education.

At KS4 examination level we offer GCSE PE (AQA), Level 2 BTEC in Sport (Edexcel). At KS5, we offer AS and A2 Levels in PE (AQA) and Level 3 BTEC Sport (Edexcel).

In addition, a strong second subject is highly desirable to help enhance our curriculum provision.

Other Professional Responsibilities:

  • To maintain equipment inventory.
  • To undertake the role of form tutor, if required to do so, and follow the guidance given by the Head of Year in relation to carrying out this role.
  • To undertake supervisory duties before school, at break or after school as required.
  • To attend department, year and other school meetings as required.
  • To maintain appropriate standards of professional appearance and conduct.
  • To follow the school performance management system.
  • The post holder is responsible for ensuring that the school safeguarding/child protection policy is adhered to and concerns are raised in accordance with this policy.
