What skills and experience we're looking for
This role requires an energetic and dedicated leader, who can make a significant contribution to our school community by providing a strategic vision for Science. The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and the ability to lead by inspiring and developing colleagues and students. As a Leader of Learning the successful candidate will need to ensure that provision for Science is broad and balancedmeeting the needs of all pupils. Being well-informed on current educational developments and initiatives is imperative.
The Science faculty is made up of thirteen members of staff with a variety of teaching experience. We use coaching practices to continually improve our teaching and learning so the successful candidate will need the ability to support staff at all levels. The faculty uses a collaborative approach to trial and then embed new initiatives that will drive student progress. Practical science work underpins teaching in the faculty and there are 7 labs to support students’ learning.
