💼 What You’ll Do:

  • Support pupils’ learning across a range of activities, helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Work closely with teachers to prepare engaging resources and deliver personalised learning plans.
  • Foster independence and self-esteem in pupils, including those with special educational needs.
  • Assist with classroom organisation and ensure a safe, stimulating learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families, contributing to our inclusive ethos.
  • Support pupils during off-site visits and collaborate with external agencies when needed.

🎯 What We’re Looking For:

  • A caring, proactive individual who enjoys working with children.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths, and a Level 1 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Someone who communicates effectively and works well as part of a team.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

The Dogsthorpe Junior Academy, part of the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT), is a junior academy situated in a small community in the north of Peterborough. It is led by the Principal, Julie Cranke, who aims to ensure that it delivers an exciting, innovative and creative curriculum that meets the needs of the pupils. All staff work hard to ensure that every pupil is supported and nurtured, helping them to develop the confidence and skills needed for the years ahead. In addition to the formal curriculum, pupils are also provided with a range of opportunities to follow their own interests and carry out individualised learning programmes.
