At Elmgrove Primary School & Nursery, we're looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Reception Class Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive Early Years team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in a well-resourced school where children are at the heart of everything we do.

Working alongside experienced teachers and colleagues, you will help create a nurturing, stimulating and inclusive Reception environment where every child can flourish and reach their full potential.

About the Role

We're looking for someone who:

Has experience working with young children in an Early Years or primary school setting.

Has a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework and child development.

Holds a relevant Level 2 qualification in Early Years, Childcare, Teaching Assistance or an equivalent qualification.

Has GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/Grade 4 or above (or equivalent).

Is caring, patient, enthusiastic and able to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

Has experience supporting children with a range of needs, including SEND, ASD, ADHD and social, emotional and behavioural needs.

Uses positive behaviour management strategies to support children's learning and wellbeing.

Is an excellent team player with strong communication and organisational skills.

Holds a Paediatric First Aid qualification or is willing to undertake the training.

Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion and helping every child achieve their full potential.

Is committed to their own professional development and continuous learning.

Welcome to Elmgrove.

Close to central Harrow, our school is situated in a quiet residential area next to Kenton Park. We are fortunate to have undergone a huge transformation with a brand new school building built as part of the DFE Priority School Building Project, which we took possession of in November 2022. We are also privileged to be one of Harrow Council’s additionally resourced primary schools for children with physical disabilities, who are fully integrated across the school.
