Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers, build resilience, and achieve their full potential? Swindon Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Coach (Pastoral Support) to play a key role in helping students thrive both academically and emotionally.
About the Role
Working under the leadership of the Senior Deputy Headteacher, you will provide pastoral support for students, particularly those experiencing social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. You will help create a safe, supportive environment where every student can access learning and succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operation of the Academy’s Early Intervention Hub (R-Zone) and pastoral on-call systems.
- Deliver targeted interventions and support programmes for students with identified needs.
- Build positive relationships that help students develop confidence, resilience, independence, and successful engagement in learning.
- Monitor, record and report on student progress, working closely with staff, parents and carers.
- Assist in developing bespoke learning plans and risk assessments where required.
- Promote inclusion and contribute positively to the wider life of the Academy community.
- Support pupils to develop resilience and independence as well as positive relationships with staff and peers so that they can access learning in the classroom.
- Promote the inclusion of all children
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings when required
