  • About this Role

    We are looking for a Learning Mentor to join our team here at Elms Farm Primary School!

    We have an exciting new opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Learning Mentor to support our wonderful pupils who may face barriers to some elements of school life. The successful candidate will be supporting pupils and enabling them to engage fully in school life and achieve positive outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities

    Pupil Support

    Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.

    Provide one-to-one and small-group interventions.

    Support pupils with emotional regulation, self-esteem and resilience.

    Develop strategies to improve behaviour for learning.

    Support vulnerable pupils and those experiencing social, emotional or mental health difficulties.

    Attendance and Engagement

    Work with families to improve attendance and punctuality.

    Support reintegration following periods of absence.

    Monitor attendance concerns and contribute to attendance action plans.

    Safeguarding and Pastoral Care

    Adhere to all safeguarding and child protection procedures.

    Liaise with Designated Safeguarding Leads regarding concerns.

    Maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes.

    Participate in multi-agency meetings where required.

    Family Support

    Build positive partnerships with parents and carers.

    Signpost families to appropriate services and support.

    Contribute to Early Help and Team Around the Family processes.

    Inclusion

    Support pupils with SEND and additional needs.

    Promote equality, inclusion and positive behaviour.

    Help ensure all pupils can access learning opportunities.

    Partnership Working

    Work closely with teachers, SENDCo, DSLs and the wider pastoral team.

    Liaise with external agencies and professionals.

    Contribute to school improvement priorities relating to wellbeing, attendance and behaviour.
