Learning Mentor job summary
Learning Mentor Grade E. Monday to Friday (term-time only). 8.15am to 3.15pm, 32.5 hours per week.
We are looking to appoint a highly skilled learning mentor to work across the school. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and highly motivated professional, dedicated to helping our children to achieve their full potential.
The learning mentor will:
be able to prioritise and provide support for children whose learning is being impacted by social, emotional and/or behavioural issues
build secure relationships with children, enabling them to work effectively
be someone a child is confident to confide in and take advice/guidance from
work with parents and be an instrumental resource in building positive relationships between school and home - a ‘Parent Champion’
address a range of concerns (attendance, punctuality, behaviour, emotional regulation, friendships, home life) that may be preventing a child from reaching their full potential in school
be confident to liaise and work with parents to support their children
have experience of working with outside agencies
organise extra-curricular workshops for parents and children
have knowledge of resources within the community to support families
work effectively with teaching staff and senior leaders
report directly to the Inclusion Manager
be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection
