What skills and experience we're looking for
We wish to appoint, in partnership with Stockton Virtual School, a highly motivated and inspirational learning mentor to work closely with our young people in Care and support them to reach their full potential.
As a Learning Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils, providing guidance, encouragement, and practical support to help them reach their full potential.You'll work with pupils on a one-to-one basis, addressing a range of complex issues that may impact their learning, such as developing regulating/coping strategies, enhancing motivation, and raising aspirations.An understanding of Attachment Aware and Trauma Informed practice or a willingness to learn is essential.
The successful applicant will also need to be able to gather, collate, analyse and present data in order to co-lead an action research project with the school’s Designated Teacher and Virtual School EDA.
