About the role
We are looking to recruit three Learning Support Assistants to work at our Worle Community School site in Weston-super-Mare, a five minute drive from the M5 junction, 2.9 miles from the beach, and with strong public transport links. This is an exciting opportunity within our SEND team, with the aim of supporting our students by enabling them to engage confidently and independently in their learning.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Deliver classroom support for pupils, planned and supervised by teachers.
- Support colleagues by assisting with resource preparation, display and care and support of pupils including health care.
- Keep records of work in order to provide feedback and general support.
- Accurately record student records and liaise with colleagues, parents, carers and third parties when necessary.

We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting pupils with individual needs, particularly those with SEN needs
- Can work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing needs
- Is confident delivering pre-planned lessons to small groups
- Builds strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Is a role model for professionalism, positivity, and care
- Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Has a good general education (GCSE grade 4 or above in Maths and English or Level 2 equivalent)
