Learning Support Assistant job summary
We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant for a fixed term period linked to a specific named student, to work in individual, small group or classroom-based settings to support progress across the curriculum. The successful candidate will work with students of all ages, alongside providing individual support for specific students with care plans to enable their access to learning.
The position is offered on the basis of working 32.25 hours per week (8.15am-3.00pm, with a 4pm finish on Tuesday) term time plus 1 week in the school holidays (39 working weeks per year), and is fixed term due to being linked to a specific student.

About you:
Our ideal candidate will have;
- Good numeracy/literacy and ICT skills
- Level 2 Mathematics and English or equivalent
- NVQ 2 or equivalent in teaching assistance or experience
- A First Aid qualification/training in specific medical procedures or the commitment to develop this
- A basic understanding of child development and learning
- Ability to relate well to children and adults
- An understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these
