Learning Support Assistant job summary

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our vibrant school community. This is a role for someone who doesn't just "do the job," but who genuinely cares about making a difference in the lives of children with diverse needs.

The Role

As a key member of our support team, you will work closely with children who require extra guidance to reach their full potential. A significant portion of this role involves delivering our phonics programme (Read Write Inc), ensuring our pupils develop the foundational literacy skills they need to succeed.

What You’ll Bring
  • Experience: You must have previous experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting.

  • Phonics Expertise: It is highly desirable that you have experience delivering a structured phonics programme .(such as Read Write Inc. or Little Wandle).

  • Specialist Knowledge: You should have a solid understanding of SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs. A formal qualification in Learning Support is a significant advantage.

  • The "Heart" Factor: You are naturally kind, patient, and empathetic. You possess a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and a proactive "growth mindset" when it comes to learning new SEND strategies.
