At Haydon Abbey School and Pre-School, we are looking for a dedicated, energetic, and professional Early Years LSA to join our team. This is a rewarding role where you will play a vital part in accelerating the progress of our youngest learners, ensuring every child achieves their highest potential in a supportive and aspirational environment.

The Role

As an Early Years LSA, you will work within our Reception and Pre-School settings to provide high-quality educational support. You will be a Key Worker for a group of children, fostering positive relationships and delivering the Early Years Statutory Framework (EYFS) with creativity and care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Targeted Support: Deliver interventions to individual children or small groups to accelerate learning and support those with SEND or EAL needs.
  • Key Person: Act as a Key Worker in our Pre-School, maintaining learning journeys, progress checks, and transition plans. Building secure and trusting relationships with your key children, sup porting individual care needs, wellbeing and overall development
  • Resource Management: Prepare and organise differentiated learning materials under the guidance of class teachers.
  • Holistic Care: Support children’s emotional and social development, assisting with play skills, personal care (including nappy changing), and snack preparation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals (like Speech Therapists) to ensure a cohesive approach to every child's needs.
  • Safety & Wellbeing: Maintain a vigilant approach to safeguarding and health and safety, ensuring a secure environment for all.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates:

  • High standards of personal integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
  • The ability to work independently using your own initiative while being a proactive team player.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • A "can-do" attitude and a commitment to the school’s vision and values.

It would be desirable although not essential to have:-

  • A thorough knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Framework and development matters.

Level 3 or above qualification in Primary Education
