Learning Support Assistant job summary

Sharnford CE Primary School, part of Inspiring Primaries Academy Trust, are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our professional, friendly and hard working team.

Sharnford is a small village school of three classes and we strive to ensure that the children who come to us are given every opportunity to develop socially and emotionally as well as academically. We pride ourselves on being a school with a very strong family feel, where staff and children know each other extremely well, treat each other with respect and most of all, feel included, valued and safe.

Our vision, 'Many hearts make our school nourishing, flourishing and fruitful', is at the heart of all that we do and this core principle rests upon a strong foundation of Christian values which we ensure the children in our care know and use in their everyday lives.

We are very much part of the community of Sharnford and develop good links with the village by regular visits to St Helen's church as well as by participating and contributing to local events. Being part of a multi-academy trust ensures we can offer not only a broad, varied and rich curriculum but also a wide range of many valuable learning experiences too.

Our last Ofsted, in 2021, identified the school as Good, commenting

“This is a school that pupils are happy to be part of. They describe it as being ‘like a family’, ‘where everyone knows each other and gets on well’, and ‘a fun and really good place to learn.

All staff expect every pupil to pay attention during lessons and to work hard. They want every pupil to learn as much as possible, including communicating clearly. Pupils get a good, broad education at Sharnford. Teachers begin to teach children how to read from the start. They, and all staff, work in shared ways so that children know what they are learning and can make progress across subjects. Pupils leave well prepared for secondary school.

This vacancy is for the right candidate to become a member of our dedicated team of support staff. The role requires a caring and considerate individual to work alongside the class teachers to offer personalised support for children with additional learning needs.

Applications from candidates with a love of children, a knowledge and understanding of their development and a commitment to creative child centred learning are welcomed.
