Learning Support Assistant job summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team and make a positive difference in the lives of our pupils. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support teaching and learning, helping all children - particularly those with additional needs - to access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils’ learning through planned activities and targeted interventions.

  • Promoting positive behaviour, wellbeing, and inclusion for all learners.

  • Preparing and organising learning materials and resources.

  • Assisting with personal care when required.

  • Contributing to pupil observations and assessments to inform progress.

  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, families, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.

We are looking for someone who is caring, patient, and committed to ensuring every child can reach their full potential. A strong understanding of safeguarding, equality, and inclusive practice is essential, along with a willingness to engage in professional development and uphold the school’s mission and values.
