This is a zero-hours casual position with no guaranteed weekly hours. Hours are flexible and allocated according to facility bookings and your stated availability. Rotas are typically arranged 4-6 weeks in advance, although additional shifts may occasionally be offered to provide absence cover.
Typical operating hours are:

- During school holiday periods, operating hours may vary according to bookings.
Most shifts are between 3-6 hours, unless otherwise agreed. Shifts exceeding six hours will include appropriate rest breaks. The sports centre is typically closed on public holidays and for approximately two weeks during the Christmas period.
About the Role
Working under the direction of senior staff, you will help ensure our facilities are safe, secure, clean and ready for use. Once fully trained, the role involves a significant amount of independent and lone working, requiring confidence, initiative and sound decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting up, dismantling and storing sports and event equipment safely and efficiently.
- Supervising hirers, clubs and visitors to ensure facilities are used safely and appropriately.
- Carrying out routine facility and equipment checks to maintain high standards and support user safety.

- Supporting site security, including opening and closing the facility and acting as a key holder where required.
- Maintaining accurate records and completing relevant documentation.
- Promoting positive behaviour and responding calmly and professionally to incidents or challenging situations.
- Adhering to all safeguarding, health and safety, equality and data protection requirements.
About You

- Practical skills and a willingness to undertake cleaning, equipment handling and basic maintenance tasks.
- The ability to use initiative, adapt to changing situations and make informed decisions.
- A commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and the wellbeing of children and young people.

In July 2025 we decided to join the Cabot Learning Federation having been a single academy for a number of years as they shared our ethos and vision for high quality education for all.
