Leisure Centre Duty Manager job summary

37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, worked on a rotating shift pattern. Grade C Step 1 – £23,115 plus 14% shift allowance. 24 days annual holiday plus Bank Holidays. Shift hours of work are completed over five or six days, within a 4 week rota, including evenings and weekends.

Wildern Leisure Centre is looking for a Duty Manager to cover Wildern and our Deer Park Leisure Centre. You will have a drive for success, a passion for excellent service and a desire to work in a stimulating organisation. You will possess excellent communication skills and have the skill, drive and determination to support the development of the Leisure Centre. We are looking for a Duty Manager who is keen to take responsibility, has a keen eye for detail and the enthusiasm and stamina to deliver results.

Wildern Leisure Centre is a co-located centre at the heart of the community of Hedge End, West End and Botley and surrounding areas. The Centre is a busy hub of activity with the potential to grow further. We have a recently fully refurbished 25m Swimming Pool as well as, Sports Hall, Gymnasium, Multi-Use Hall/Studio, Fitness Suite, Learner Pool, Astro-turf, 3g, Tennis Courts and Grass Football pitches. These facilities are supported by separate wet and dry side changing areas.

Essential Qualities:

  • NPLQ.
  • Good understanding of the leisure industry.
  • Leisure Supervision/Management experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the leisure industry.
  • Flexibility and commitment.

Desirable Qualities:

  • Fitness Instructor Level 2
  • Pool Plant Operation
  • Swim Teaching L1/2
  • A recognised qualification in Leisure Management or NVQ Level 3
