Job title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Temporary subject to needs and funding requirements of the school)
Contract: 32.5 hrs per week, Term Time plus 5 days
Salary Scale: Scale 1a, Pts 2-3 (£24,413 -£24,796) FTE

What does a 1:1 L1 Teaching Assistant do?
In a nutshell, you will be working closely with an individual pupil or groups of pupils to provide dedicated support, ensuring they can fully access the curriculum and participate in school life. Your role is about more than just academic help; it is about building a secure, trusting relationship that empowers the children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of the specific needs of the pupils to provide effective 1:1 or group support.
- Implementing planned learning activities, observing achievements, and maintaining records to monitor progress and inform assessment.
- Assisting with personal care programmes—including hygiene, toileting, eating, and drinking—to encourage independence and dignity.
- Planning and providing practical assistance for physical needs, such as mobility and the organisation of learning equipment.
- Adhering to all school Safeguarding Policies and reporting concerns through the appropriate channels

- Qualifications: GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Experience: Experience working within an educational setting is essential; experience working with SEND pupils is highly valued.
- Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Attributes: A flexible approach, high integrity, and a genuinely friendly, approachable manner.
