What skills and experience we're looking for
Richmond Hill Academy is seeking to recruit a committed and inspirational colleague to the role of Level 1 Teaching Assistant, supporting pupils with special educational needs within our Specialist Resource Provision, Rainbow Base. This is a highly rewarding role, working with children with complex communication needs, where you will play a key part in supporting access to a personalised curriculum and helping pupils to develop independence and reach their full potential.
Working under the direction of teaching and senior staff, you will support learning within the classroom, contribute to pupils’ social and emotional development, and help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment. You will build positive relationships with pupils, encourage interaction and independence, and support the delivery of tailored programmes, including speech and language interventions
We are looking for someone who:
- Has good numeracy and literacy skills, with GCSE Grade A*–C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
- Has experience of working with, or caring for, young people
- Can build positive relationships and support pupils with a range of additional needs
- Works effectively as part of a team and shows a proactive, flexible approach
Has a genuine passion for supporting inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
