What skills and experience we're looking for
- Practical skills and expertise as outlined in the Job description including L2-3 TA qualification – or other relevant experience that would support outstanding behaviour and inclusion practices.
- GCSE Maths and English at least at grade 4 or equivalent.
- A passion and vision for working with students in their personal, social and emotional needs as well as their academic development.
- The ability to stimulate curiosity, interest and enjoyment in learning.
- Confidence in dealing with students across different age ranges particularly Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Creative skills and a professional approach.
- The determination to support in raising student achievement.
- Team-working skills.
- Good inter-personal and communication skills with students, colleagues and parents.
- Experience of supporting students one-to one and/or small groups independently.
- Experience of supporting students with cognition and learning needs, or behaviour, emotional and well-being activities and programmes.
- Experience of working with primary/secondary age students and supporting subject knowledge in a variety of subjects as a TA would be an advantage to support students when they are in and beyond the based in mainstream subjects.
- Team skills and the ability to work independently.
- Outstanding inter-personal and communication skills with students, colleagues and parents.
- A clear understanding of the importance of Safeguarding.

Are you a team player who wants to join our expanding SEND team in our growing and thriving Academy?
This post has come about due the introduction of our brand new KS3 SEND Resource Base (cognition and learning) – a small and caring facility for children who require further support to enable them to access mainstream lessons effectively.
The post holders' responsibilities may also include providing small group or one to one support; general classroom support. The role also includes developing resources and liaising with teaching staff in the development and delivery of a differentiated curriculum to meet the of SEND students and then support students in their integration into the curriculum.
We are really excited to be offering an opportunity for an enthusiastic and student-focused teaching assistant, to support children at KS3 to develop literacy, numeracy and core skills and knowledge in a new facility, led by our qualified in – house lead teacher. Our provision is for children with cognition and learning needs. It is an area where we can support intensively, children where we know they may struggle initially to access a full time, mainstream curriculum effectively.
