Level 2 Teaching Assistant Fixed Term job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our highly dedicated SEND team on a fixed term basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to join our close-knit team as a Teaching Assistant (fixed term) in our small, supportive school. Play a key role in shaping young minds, assisting teachers, and fostering a nurturing learning environment. This role is ideal for someone enthusiastic, caring, and eager to make a real difference in children's education.

What we are looking for:
Duties will include in class support for SEND pupils to give them every opportunity to make expected progress by accessing the whole curriculum. Under the direction of the SENCO and teaching staff prepare individualised and/or differentiating teaching resources for use in class.
We are looking for individuals who have a very flexible and enthusiastic approach to suit the varying and sometimes complex needs of our pupils and be prepared to undertake any associated tasks as required. The successful candidate will be a confident communicator as they will need to liaise with parents and carers in a manner that will support SEND pupils in their learning. We are looking for people who can demonstrate commitment, energy, and drive to join our team and work to provide positive learning experiences for all our students.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience of working within any of the primary Key Stages – EYFS/KS1/KS2
- Have a broad and balanced education and be able to evidence, via original certificates, that they hold Level 2 (or above) qualifications in Maths and English
- Be able to address the needs of our pupils by supporting them in overcoming their barriers to learning
- Be able to demonstrate an awareness of emotional wellbeing and empathy for pupils, to understand their needs and respond accordingly
- Be rigorous in maintaining high standards of behaviour and attitude and model this
- Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence
- Have the ability to use IT to a proficient standard
- Have the ability to work well in a team and independently
