Level 2 Teaching Assistant for Pre-school and EYFS job summary

Duration of Post: Fixed term until 31st August 2025, 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, term-time only, plus training days.


We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a dedicated, resourceful and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our experienced staff team to work in our pre-school and EYFS classes.

You must demonstrate a good knowledge of the requirements of working with children within the EYFS, whilst having good planning and observations skills. As a result of your experience, you will have the ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues, children and parents and feel passionately about the rights of every child to achieve and thrive in education.

Every day you will be supporting children with a range of needs to access all areas of the early years’ curriculum, build relationships with those around them and translate the world around them, in a meaningful way.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Level 2 childcare qualification;
  • Experience of working with children with additional needs;
  • The ability to build good relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues;
  • A commitment to equal opportunities;
  • The ability to work in a team but also to use your own initiative;
  • Organisational and time management skills;
  • T he ability to focus learning in a proactive, creative and positive manner as well as evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities;
