Level 3 Business administrator apprentice job summary
Level 3 Business Administrator Apprentice required at Willow Vale School due to the continued growth of our school. Fixed-term apprenticeship contract.
30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only) .

Willow Vale School is a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) serving children and young people across multiple sites in Taunton & Bridgwater. We provide high-quality education, care and support to learners who require alternative provision and are committed to helping every young person achieve success both academically and personally.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic apprentice to join our administration team based in Taunton, but we would like the successful applicant to be able to travel around sites when needed, so a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle is required. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, professional and keen to develop a career in business administration within a supportive educational environment.
Working across our Taunton sites, you will gain valuable hands-on experience supporting a busy school environment while completing a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship with Somerset Skills & Learning. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the school and contributing to the efficient running of our services.
You will be expected to demonstrate:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A professional and positive approach to work
- Good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
- Confidence when communicating with pupils, families, staff and external professionals
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills
Essential requirements:
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to your own vehicle, as the role requires travel between Willow Vale School sites across Taunton
Apprenticeship Summary:
Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship
Expected Duration: Approximately 18 months with Somerset Skills & Learning
Throughout the programme, you will develop skills and knowledge in:
- Business administration and organisational systems
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Supporting operational efficiencies within an organisation
- Decision making and problem solving
- Customer service and stakeholder engagement
- Information management and record keeping
- Building a portfolio of evidence for End Point Assessment
- Supporting the vision, values and aims of a complex organisation

The Bridge School, Sedgemoor is one of four Pupil Referral Units commissioned by Somerset County Council and Somerset schools. We provide services through a number of centres for students who have a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. All students are referred through their mainstream schools in the Sedgemoor area.
