Location - South Trafford / South Manchester / Cheshire
Vacancy - TA Key Stage 1 & 2
Contract Type - Term time only – 38 weeks. Subject to DBS clearance and satisfactory references
Hours - 8:15am – 4:00pm (45 minutes for lunch)
Salary - Pt. 7 (£12.59 per hour) – Pt 13 (£13.93 per hour)
FTE: £24,294 - £26,873 (Salary will be pro-rota’d) (exact hourly rate will be dependent on experience)
Reports to - Headteacher/SLT Members

Main Duties Include
As Teaching Assistant: -
- Have a secure knowledge and understanding of core subjects and related pedagogy and how each subject contributes to cross curricular learning
- Know and understand the relevant statutory and non-statutory curricular frameworks and other relevant initiatives across the age and ability range they teach
- To assist in the implementation of schemes of work in accordance with the school’s pattern of organisation
- Use skills in English, Mathematics and Computing to support children’s learning
- Make effective personalised provision for children they support, including those who have EAL, SEND, A, G & T and/or are assessed as Disadvantaged
- Know and implement local and national policies and guidance on the Safeguarding and promotion of the well-being of children
- Establish a purposeful, safe, orderly and stimulating learning environment which complies with legal requirements, national policies and school policies
- Manage pupils' behaviour constructively by establishing a clear and positive framework for discipline in line with the school's Behaviour Policy
- To maintain classroom resources/displays to a high standard
- Work as a team member, sharing the development of effective practice
- Adopt a positive and optimistic attitude to school issues
- Help to encourage a positive school spirit
- Meet deadlines and show a degree of organisation in work related matters
- To assist in supervision at break-times
- To administer first aid when necessary.
- To take shared responsibility for standards of safety, security, hygiene, cleanliness and tidiness throughout the classroom.
- To take shared responsibility for the care, maintenance and security of all equipment within the classroom.
- To participate in the school’s performance management review process and access any necessary training or professional development.
- To comply with all school policies and procedures at all times.
- To treat all staff, children and parents with courtesy and professionalism at all times.
- To attend parents’ evenings/workshops/open evenings as and when required.
- To attend staff and team meetings as appropriate.
- To keep the work environment healthy, safe and secure.
- To carry out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities’ framework.
- To work within agreed School policies and procedures including Safeguarding; E-safety; Behaviour Management and Health and Safety
- To deal with all confidential matters with tact and discretion.
