What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governors of Brunswick Community Primary School are looking to appoint a Level 3 Pupil Support Assistant to assist in the provision of support for a child with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, primarily supporting a KS2 pupil. The post will commence as soon as possible until 31st August 2026.

Ideally candidates will hold a relevant TA qualification and have experience of supporting SEND pupils.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is highly motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking and flexible.
  • Possess a high standard of spoken and written English, and is proficient in Mathematics.
  • Has good knowledge and understanding of supporting children with SEND including recent experience/training of supporting children with ASD and behavioural needs.
  • Is able to adopt a trauma-informed approach to supporting pupils.
  • Is able to communicate effectively with school staff, professionals and families.
  • Is a team player, able to work effectively with our school SENDCo and other external services to adapt provision in order to support the specific needs of our pupils.

The post is to support a pupil with specific funding until 31.8.2026, the school reserves the right to review the end date of the contract should the pupil leave the school early.
