Librarian job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Librarian to lead and develop the school library at Orion Coopers. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in promoting literacy, supporting learning, and fostering a culture of reading across the school community.
As Librarian, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the library, including overseeing resources, maintaining library systems, supporting reading intervention programmes, and creating an engaging learning environment for students. You will work closely with teaching and support staff to promote reading for pleasure, develop students' literacy skills, and support independent research and learning.
The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills, a passion for reading and learning, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external partners. Experience of working in a library, educational, or youth-focused environment would be advantageous.
