LIBRARY LEARNING RESOURCE CENTRE ASSISTANT job summary

The successful candidate will help support our Learning Resource Centre Manager, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to develop a lifelong love of reading and learning.

About the role:-

You will assist students in locating and accessing books, learning resources and digital materials. You will promote reading for pleasure and support literacy initiatives across the school and support students with independent study and research activities. You will help ensure that the library remains an orderly, attractive and engaging learning environment and you will assist with book displays, reading events and promotional activities.

Working hours are 3 hours a day - Monday to Friday - 10.40 a.m. until 1.40 p.m.

What we are looking for:

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Someone who is passionate about reading, literacy and supporting young people
  • Has good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can work independently and also as part of a team
  • Someone who feels confident in using ICT and library management (training will be provided for someone who is willing to learn)
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
