What skills and experience we're looking for
An opportunity has arisen for you to work with committed, knowledgeable governance colleagues as part of a high-quality team of Governance Professionals who support our local academy committees. You be joining a small team whose aim is to enable our governors to support and challenge our senior leaders to ensure all our students leave the academy with the outcomes they deserve. We are proud that Ofsted inspections have praised governance and it is our aim to retain the high standards we have set.
The successful candidate will:
- Be appointed to 5 of our local academy committees which serve 7 of our academies
- Be fully supported, trained and mentored by team members
- Have flexible working conditions with the opportunity to work from home and from each academy in the Mansfield/Hucknall area
- The vacancy is to fill a full time, term time only role however different working patterns may be considered
Essential
- Highly organised with excellent time management skills
- Be able to produce high quality and accurate minutes and maintain confidentiality
- Build relationships and work effectively with our committed volunteers to ensure we use their time wisely and they have the training and support needed to do their role
- Provide expert advice and administration on governance, statutory and trust procedures and assurance
- Can work flexibly to attend meetings that are usually held outside of the usual school day, which are mostly in academies, but which are occasionally held virtually
- Have transport to travel to each location for meetings
Desirable
- Experience of working in and knowledge of the education sector

Founded in September 2011, Diverse Academies is a multi-academy trust consisting of 14 academies – six secondary, six primary and two special – across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.
We have a shared sixth form centre facility in Hucknall, which is managed in partnership with the National Church of England Academy. Queen Elizabeth’s in Mansfield, is a faith academy under the Church of England and is rooted in a Christian ethos. The academy works in partnership with the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham to provide an education that is distinctively Christian, and is inclusive for students from all backgrounds, of the Christian faith, other faiths and no faith.
The Trust Board provides overall support and challenge to academies through the leadership and management and governance structures within the Diverse Academies.
