Lunchtime Assistant job summary
Larkmead school is seeking to recruit a Lunchtime Assistant to provide support for the social and personal needs of pupils, ensuring that they have a safe and healthy environment during lunchtime break periods at school. This is a term time only position 38 weeks of the year, 5 days per week, for a minimum of 5 hours up to a maximum of 10 hours per week, Monday - Friday from 12:30 - 2:30pm. You will also be required to attend annual safeguarding training during one of our September inset days.
About this Role
You will support pupils:
- To establish and maintain effective relationships with pupils, monitor and support them during lunch break activities
- To develop and maintain working relationships with other school staff
- To contribute to the management of pupil behaviour and security in line with school policies
- Assist with the management of communal areas, picking up litter and emptying bins
- To follow wet lunchtime procedures
- To administer basic First Aid in the play areas where necessary and refer/report to designated members of staff
