The Priory Learning Trust is looking to recruit a Lunchtime Supervisor to work at our Berrow Primary Church Academy.

Berrow Primary Church Academy is a small school with community at its heart - we focus on developing children and young people into well rounded individuals, who leave school not only with positive outcomes, but also valuable life experiences and an aspirational mindset, with high expectations of, and for, themselves.

We are looking for a friendly, empathetic and caring Lunchtime Supervisor for our small primary school. The role will include supervising and engaging with the children during playtime, monitoring and encouraging good eating habits, rewarding good behaviour and social skills and building relationships. This is an ideal opportunity to begin a career in education.

As part of this role, you will;

  • Oversee children at lunchtime and lead play activities.
  • Listen to the children and encourage their play, but also has the necessary skills to maintain discipline in the playground.
  • Promote student well-being by encouraging them to develop good relationships with others, develop their self-reliance and self-esteem, help children to practice good standards of personal health and hygiene.

The successful candidates will have;

  • Ability to work flexibly within a team and motivate students.
  • Good interpersonal skills with both adults and children.
  • Understanding of the developmental needs of children.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • First Aid qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of working with children desirable but not essential.

All appointments are subject to a comprehensive pre-employment checking process. This includes an Enhanced DBS check (including a Children’s Barred List check), satisfactory references, medical fitness, Right to Work in the UK, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching/management check. In line with KCSIE guidance, we will also conduct online searches on all shortlisted candidates.
